1st Annual Tree Cutting

We started a new tradition this year. We went up north and cut down our own Christmas tree. Our friends started doing it a couple years ago, but for some reason we were never that interested. I personally don't have a huge opinion about real vs. fake trees. But we thought it would be a great tradition that our kids would love. This year it didn't work out that we could take all the kids and make a weekend out of it and stay at the cabin. But for now on that is what we will do. I'm really excited about it! I love our tree, it is bare but it is beautiful!

The good old Mcfarlanes who started it all.

Our lumberjacks. Boy were they manly. Love how they are totally matching. Photobucket

Oh and I'm kinda in love with this ruffle tree skirt I made. Thank you pinterest! It definitely was a time consuming project but I'm happy how it turned out.

The kids are beyond themselves with all the fun stuff christmas time brings. Whenever we are in the car you better belive they make sure the Christmas songs are on. And they are a little obsessed with pointing out all the lights. We put up our train last night and they all just sat forever watching it. It's going to be a fun year! I love that my kids are getting old enough to really enjoy these things.

Halloween

Meet the Flintstones... Pebbles, Bam Bam and of course Dino. This year I felt that Parker was old enough and actually cared about what he was going to dress up as this year. So I let him decide. He wanted to be a dinosaur so it worked out nicely that I was able to still do a theme which I love doing. I can see it being really difficult to continue a theme as the kids get older though. They all looked so cute together. I have to say I felt really old when I was telling Mike's 16 year old brother what the kids were and he had no idea what the Flintsones were. It's happening already. Sooo depressing! I really enjoyed Halloween this year, now that the kids are older they are more into treat or treating. They had a lot of fun this year!

Everytime I would tell Parker how cute he looked he kept informing me that he didn't look cute, that he looked super scary. Not sure about that, a lot of people confused him for a frog.

My mother in law helped me make these two costumes. I loved how they turned out. My favorite is Kennidi's bone which I found at Petco. If anyone needs a chew toy for their dog let me know.

We went to Mother Nature's Farm for a field trip for Parker's joyschool group. The kids loved everything especially getting to decorate their own pumpkin.

Pierce was so fasinated by the farm animals.

Mike and I celebrated our anniversary this past weekend. I can't believe that it's already been 6 years. He surprised me with a night in Scottsdale. It was so nice having a night to ourselves. I love everything about this guy. He is the most amazing husband and father. He makes life so fun and enjoyable. I look forward to all the good times we are going share together. Photobucket

Ragnar

This past weekend I went to Vegas with 11 other girls for the Ragnar Relay. This is a 188 mile relay race divided between 12 girls. It was one of the crazziest things I have ever done. Each girl runs three different times. Needless to say you are physically exhausted at the end and the lack of sleep pays a toll on your body. I was way undertrained for this beast but I'm just glad I finished even if it meant limping to the end:) I feel so lucky that I went with the most amazing girls. They are all really motivating to me to be a better runner. We laughed so much this trip and even shed some tears. (What do you expect with 12 girls in one van). This is definitley a experience I will always remember.

Finger nails painted and feeling confident. Boy was I in for a surprise.

This belly bump picture is by far the coolest picture of the weekend. I must say I was definitley put to shame by our pregant girls on our team. Both girls are over 20 weeks and dominated in the race. They were both super impressive!!

Photobucket

It was fun pulling to the side of the road and cheering on our runner.

Photobucket
We thought it would be a genius idea to do a classic cartwheel at the exchange. It was a great idea at first not so much by the end of the race.
Photobucket

The night run was pretty crazy, running in the pitch black. But it was by far my favorite run.

We got all freshend up for a night out on the town . We went to dinner at Serendipity and ate yummy food. We were all hobbling around pretty badly, so walking the strip wasn't sounding like such a good idea. Instead we called it a night and had some fun talking in our hotel room.

Birthday Boy

Sick of me yet?? I know I've been a little blogger happy lately but I have so much going on this month and next, if I don't post as stuff happens I'll never get around it it. It's all for the sake of the blog book so bare with me:)

It's offical I have a 4 year old!! Wow I'm feeling old. Parker just had his birthday and I'm still in shock of how fast he is growing up. He is so independent and he still makes me laugh everyday. I love this boy! I started a tradition of hanging up streamers and having the kids burst through it on their birthday. I thought this was a cute idea to make them feel extra special. Parker loved it! Thanks pinterest!

For his party he originally wanted to go to Bounce U but things didn't work out with our crazy schedules this month. So we ended going to his all time favorite place Peter Piper Pizza. (again).

Photobucket

Parker wanted a Batman party. So this was my way simple attempt at a batman cake.

This was our first party with just the kids, no adults. So we had our hands full!! I think the all the boys plus Kennidi had a really good time.

Happy Birthday Parker!

Spotlight still on Parker because he had his first ever soccer game last week. He was so excited to play and be a part of a team. He did soo good and he wasn't timid at all. It was so cute to see all these 4 yr olds running in clumps to the ball.

Disneyland

We just got back from our family trip to California. We went to Disneyland/California Adventure for the main part of the trip. This year we did a three day pass which was nice because we wern't so rushed to do it all in one day. The kids were in heaven, we had so much fun! Pierce was in awe of everything and minus him getting his head stuck in between bars, while waiting in line, he had a blast:)Parker felt like a big kid, he was able to go on all the rides except Indiana Jones. He kept wanting to repeat rides over and over. It's a good thing we were there for three days.

This ferris wheel was huge, and it some off the compartments would swing. It was actually pretty scary. We laughed a lot of the time because it was so freaky. We thought it was going to be a nice relaxing ride because all of our kids were allowed on it and they didn't even have you seat belted in. Well the first time it swung Parker went flying and hit the ground of our compartment. Luckily he thought it was funny but it was a intense ride.

They had all their cute Halloween decorations already up.

Mike's parents and Austin came with us, which was great because we were able to switch off going on rides. We had a lot of fun with them there!

Little Mermaid was definitley a favorite!

We were able to make it to the beach for one day. It was a little chilly so we didn't even get in the water. But I just love being by the ocean.
Photobucket

This was Pierce's first trip to the beach and he umm loved it!

Photobucket

Parker was the only one man enough to get in the water.

The kids loved getting barried in the sand and "hiding from people."

Fiesta for El Guapo

Photobucket

My good friend Kenzie did such a good job on the invites. I did a good job on editing my number:)Thanks again Kenzie!!

Well it's official my sweet baby is one years old! Soo sad. Really. More to come with stats and one year old pics but for right now here is the Fiesta we had in celebration of his special day. He looks so different from the Halloween picture of him as one of my 3 amigos I have on his invite. He was one month then and now he's all grown up. I love this little boy!
